This week, I made a lot more progress on my design and was able to do a lot more testing of my rover and was able to conclude many takeaways from the project thus far. However, before I got to this point, I first decided to try creating treads to add on the wheels instead of ordering from amazon using a new material Mr. L had bought for 3d printing.

All 6 of the treads ended up taking not very much time. I was able to completely finish all the treads in one day, and they all fit perfectly onto the wheels. Once this step was complete, I decided to rewire all of the motors onto the breadboard and get everything set up once again. Once everything was good to go, I began to test the rover, and it turned out working far better than before. With the new and improved suspension and nice treads, the rover was able to overcome objects it was incapable of climbing before with far more traction.

Looking forward, I think that I have made a lot of improvements to the rover but I think their is a lot I can do to make it even better. Firstly, for my next design I was to make far larger wheels, not only to drive over higher obstacles but to stop the suspension getting caught on objects. After this, I am going to focus in again on the suspension with which I will not only replace all of the parts with a lightweight metal like aluminum, but also fix some of the joint pieces and add stronger motors to increase the stability and power of the rover and take it to the next level.
