Light Display Project.
This was my first independent project that I worked on in robotics. The ideas behind it is to have LEDs project their light into acrylic to create and interesting effect. For my design I decided to deviate from the average box and instead create a light based clock. Through this system LEDs would turn on every 7.5 minutes, eventually at the end of the hour maxing out with all 8 being turned on, then at the start of the next hour the LEDs would reset and the color would slightly change. Throughout the day and night the colors would change corresponding to where the sun was, with them reaching the most yellow at 12 PM and the most blue and 12 AM, with the sun rise and sunset times turning the LEDs a pretty, pink color. This process was done through the use of exponential functions which was the control for the different colors influencing the LEDs. After this was done I next went on to designing and laser cutting the wooden from for the box. Lastly I went on to designing, cutting, and soldering the circuit board that I housed inside the box which controlled the functions.

Sumo Bot
This project was a competition in which the entire class each designed robots with the main goal of pushing one another off of the sumo ring arena. The sumo bot that I created is equipped with a light sensor that can detect dark and bright surfaces, this is important due to the bright out ring and dark inner circle of the arena being what helps guide bot around. Once the bot reaches the edge of the arena it detects the white ring and spins itself back around, driving towards the center once again. For the project, I made sure to push its weight to the limit, perfectly meeting the required weight limit of all sumo bots. For the design of the bot I focused a lot on the scraper, which I sharpened and cut to protect the bot very efficiently and along with the high torque motors, it became quite the adversary. Finally the the main frame, I made sure to create a compact and overall concise design that worked well.

Dish Cleaner

This was my first independent project that I worked on in robotics in Junior year. The main idea when creating the project was to design a machine that could efficiently remove excess debris and food on plates, hence the dish cleaner name. The main body of this design holds the PCB with the motor driver and the micro controller on the top level. Underneath, there is a second level in which a powerful 1.5 NM motor. This new design allows the user to apply a lot of force into the plate letting the machine clear everything for you. The motor is then mounted with a standoff screw into the attachment that allows the user to clean. On the sides, small metal balls have been attached to serve slightly similar to that of a bearing which keeps the model stable. On the bottom, Velcro has been attached to allow for various appliances to be attached, such as sponges, towels, sand paper, or anything you may want. On the top, a handle has been attached to allow for easy handling and control, as well as a potentiometer to adjust the speed to whatever fits the users need the most.
