This week, I was able to make a lot of progress on my rover. Firstly, before I was able to test of my rover with all of the new additions, I first needed to finish printing all of the remaining treads. After setting up the 3d printer once again with Mr. L I started the next print which took 18 hours. However once finishing we realized what this issue was: when the filament coil had tension, not enough came out to properly print the treads with full strength. However now that I had all 6 treads, I decided to at least try them to see how they performed.

After attaching the batteries and setting up the bread board, I was ready to begin testing. Upon starting up the new design, I saw a huge improvement. Along with the new treads, wheels, and motors, the rover worked far better, easily scaling obstacles 3/4 the height of the wheels showing how well the new treads worked. For the first time, I was able to effectively use the rover to overcome real obstacles. However I am not done yet, for the rest of the week Mr. L has been printing the treads during the mornings with the correct tension allowing them to be perfect. Once, these are all done it will only be even stronger. For the final piece of the puzzle, I am going to cut out aluminum framing instead of the acrylic, and glue to pieces together to ensure everything is strong and rigid. After this is done, my design will be fully complete.
