This week I worked on creating a prototype for my cleaner. at the start of the week I first worked on creating an attachment to the motor in CAD. This will be used for adding on brushes, scrubs, sponges and anything else used for cleaning. Next I experimented with different types of motors I could possibly use if I am not happy with the current motor after I test my prototype.
After completing the main parts of my CAD file I then switched to laser cutting the base of my project to attach the D/C motor. After laser cutting I then screwed the motor into place and tested with the bread board to make sure everything was still functional.
Finally, I 3d printed out the bottom piece of my design. Both attempts at printing turned out to be a failure. I then went back to the cad file to redesign the part attaching to the motor, making it far thicker, giving the 3d printer enough space to correctly print my design. I hope that next week I will be able to test my design and see what adjustments I need to make to the design.
