This week, my main goal was to begin to transition from testing my prototype to creating a final draft of the cleaner. However before I could begin to cut and print pieces I first needed to add an area in my CAD design to put in my battery. This, however, turned out to be far more difficult than I originally thought as I was not willing on giving up lots of space in my design. In the end after multiple adjustments I finally decided on slightly increasing the height of my design and stacking the battery above the PCB attaching to the handle. This turned out to be the overall best setup as it allows me to easily connect it to the PCB, this position results in far easier access to the potentiometer and, unlike other orientations, will not block the wiring for the potentiometer. During this same time I also worked on calculating out the battery's life and at when the motor was at different loads at 11.1v. Overall it turned out to last for far longer than originally anticipated at just over an hour and most loads and only dipping under when the motor succumbs its maximum output. I hope to 3d print and cut out the acrylic panels tomorrow and to continue to make progress on assembling the final design of the cleaner.
