After testing my my second prototype last Friday, I found that the motor I had been using was not working to the level I wanted. After applying Velcro tape and attaching marker erasers to the bottom, I concluded that after testing the cleaning capability on the white board. The motor was too weak. Even after applying a small amount of pressure the motor would very quickly seize up. That is when I realized more torque was needed.

Since then, I researched many motors, with the goal of finding one with a good mix of high RPM and torque - both of which my other motor was lacking - first, I found a motor in the our supplies with a extreme RPM, however in contrast the torque was very low. After searching and Googling many different motor I finally found a candidate. This motor - unlike the others - has both a great rpm as well as torque and I knew it would be my best option in the shop.

Next I took all of the measurements of the motor and quickly duplicated my old CAD file. After which, I added the new motor measurements onto the file to fix it into place. Then I adjusted the shape of the base attachment to ensure that it would properly fit. Finally I laser cut out the base and attached the motor. I hope that tomorrow (Friday) to 3d print the attachment and test this new motor to see if I should proceed with the design.
