This week I started off by going back into cad and making some changes to the design of the suspension. Originally, at the axis of the suspension, I was using a very small, and slightly weak bearing, instead, I decided to redesign this aspect and incorporate the same sized bear and used in the main joint. After redesigning this part, I next moved on to adding in a connecting joint the the second axis and before I had simply ran a bolt between one solid leg. After the new design I had attached a large connecting piece with both parts of the leg running into the joint. After completing this I also realized that I wanted to redesign the main connecting joint. I extended it down further into either side of the legs providing far more support.

Once these steps were complete I moved on to getting all of the new parts 3d printed and cut out. Once these pieces were done, I began to assemble the new suspension. Everything turned out being sized correct and I did not run into many issues. After threading both of the knew joints I screwed them onto the bolt separated by a bearing. Once this was complete I realized that the knew design was very nice, it not only offered far more support, but also allowed for all of the joints to move freely and smoothly.

With the new suspension done, I spent the last part of my week working on the differential for the suspension. This mechanism is responsible for providing the stability and function to the suspension. After making some adjustments to the screw holes and other aspects of its design in cad, I 3D printed each of the pieces. Now that this is complete I can begin the process of creating other other side of the suspension and attach it to the differential, which I will begin next week.
