This week I seriously sat down and reconsidered my design for my cleaner. I realized the what I was creating would not be very effective so I decided to change my idea. Firstly this week I decided to change the motor I was using from a servo to D/C motor. The original reason for trying to use a servo motor was to broaden my understanding of how different motors work, however I realized a simpler motor like a D/C motor would be far more effective.
Once I had my new idea in mind I began work on the code and new breadboard design, firstly deciding on the MAX14870 as the motor driver. I also decided to implement a potentiometer as a way for users to adjust the speed of my cleaner. After figuring this out I wrote a basic script and designed the breadboard, ensuring my design would work.
After deciding to redesign my electronics I realized that I also wanted rework my cad file, I started by figuring out a new way to mount the motor, then figuring out a capsule to hold all of the components. I also brainstormed the idea to add different attachments to my cleaner for cleaning different surfaces. Next week I will continue to work on my cad file and hopefully begin work on a new schematic for my PCB.
